Where our figures come from

We use primary and official sources first: NHS Employers, the NHS Business Services Authority, GOV.UK and HMRC, the BMA, and professional and regulatory bodies. Every figure in a calculator is stored with its source and the date it took effect, and every page lists the sources it relies on.

Keeping figures current

We review pay scales, tax thresholds and pension rates when they change, and at least at the start of each tax year. The "last updated" date on a page changes only when its content or underlying figures change.

How we choose links

• We link to a source because it is the best reference for a point, never because we have been asked or paid to.
• We do not accept payment, gifts or favours for links or coverage, and we do not take part in link exchanges.
• We link to recruitment businesses only where they publish an original, useful resource, such as a guide or data, that is not available from an official source. We do not link to agency job listings.

Independence

Locum Pay Calculator is independent. No recruitment agency, employer or other organisation owns, funds, controls or reviews this site, and none has any say over what we publish. Official sources always come first. Where we cite a commercial source, it's because it publishes something useful that official sources don't, and it's held to the same standard as every other source we use.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us. We correct mistakes quickly and note significant corrections on the page.
